The HC-YR4085 50 Gb/s (PAM-4) 1×4 array Oxide VCSEL is a 150-µm thick, 850-nm wavelength, GaAs based Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) array, designed for high-speed optical data communication applications, in particular for optical transceivers. The Toptrans VCSEL is engineered for superior reliability, dynamic performance and optical power over temperature. The VCSEL arrays have both anode contacts and common cathode contacts on the top side of the chip for convenient wire bonding. The VCSEL produces a circularly symmetric, narrow beam which, with appropriate lenses, enables the optical power to be coupled efficiently into 50/125μm and 62.5/125μm multi-mode fiber. Toptrans' VCSEL arrays are extensively tested to insure performance, wear out lifetime, and wet-humid (85%RH/85°C) operating life in non-hermetic environments.
